What to Remember When Selecting Your Tank 

The rules to remember when picking out the correct cylinder for scuba diving are the following:

  • Total Weight – People who are smaller in stature or lighter in weight will not want to be trying to carry a heavier tank, so making sure that you are picking the correct weight is essential for a successful dive. 
  • Buoyancy When Empty – you will have to factor this in to understand how much to add to your scuba belt to compensate for the buoyancy of the empty tank. 
  • Buoyancy When Full – Refers to how much weight of air is inside your tank and gives you a guide for how much weight you will need to have on your scuba belt to sink when going into the water.
